Dr John Kirk joined the Canton Villages Mission as a doctor in 1908. He assisted in setting up the Ko Tong and Kong Chuen Mission Hospitals as well as being involved in the Kung Yee Union Medical Education Scheme and work at Canton Hospital with the Canton Medical Missionary Society. He was married to Miss Norah E. Hughes in 1908 and resigned from the mission in 1929.
