Research Fees : (Current as at 1 July 2007)

If you are in doubt about our research charges, please ask us, we are happy to clarify these for you. All charges are inclusive of GST (NZ Government Goods & Services Tax) of 12.5%

• Miniumum Research Fee : NZ$22.50
• Charge Per Hour : NZ$56.25
• Full Day : Negotiable

A discounted research fee will apply for NZ Students unable to travel to Dunedin and for non-New Zealand students, provided that the Archives receives a copy of the completed thesis or paper. Please enquire for full details.

Please note that payment for written requests is required in advance. We will advise research costs once these have been established. A postage charge will also apply.

Marriage Certificates & Official Baptismal Transcripts :

• Each Certificate or Transcript : NZ$15.00 [to 31 July 2008]
• Each Certificate or Transcript : NZ$17.00 [From 1 August 2008]

Photocopy Charges :

• Normal Charge : NZ .55 cents per A4 page
• Student Charge : NZ .20 cents per page

Credit Card Payments :

We welcome payments by Visa, Mastercard [Access], and American Express. Your credit card details will be fully encrypted during processing by the "PayPal" secure server. At no stage are your credit card details divulged either to ourselves or any third party. Please note that payments made via "PayPal" will incur a fee of 3.4% on the total transaction amount up to NZD$99.99 and 3% for all amounts over NZD$100.00 This is to partially cover 'Paypal' transaction fees. The total amount payable will be quoted prior to 'checkout'.

Photographic & Image Reproduction Fees :

Please note new charging structure effctive 1 August 2008

Image Reproduction Services :

• Scanned Black & White and Colour images (up to A4 size only)
• Digital copies of any image larger than A4 size (max 9 megapixels)
• Scanned Black & White and Colour negatives (all formats) - please note that some early colour negatives may need to be outsourced.
  
• Scanned 35mm slides
• Scanned Glass Lantern slides
• Additional fees will be charged for any images larger than A4 size which require to be outsourced for scanning and burning onto CD.

Images are supplied as Jpeg compressed or Tiff uncompressed files scanned on a professional grade scanner and saved onto a re-writable CD. This will enable you to print images yourself or have copies easily printed directly from the CD by any commercial photographic outlet.

• These charges are to act as a guide only - we will confirm all charges prior to any order being placed.
• Due to the format or fragility of the original image, reproductions are at our discretion.
• All charges are inclusive of GST (NZ Government Goods & Services Tax) of 12.5% 

Standard Scanned Images on CD (Excluding Students) : [Until 31 July 2008]

• First Image (Includes CD writing & set-up fee) : NZ $20.00 plus CD charge below.
• Each image thereafter : NZ $16.00

Standard Scanned Images on CD (Excluding Students) : [From 1 August 2008]

• First Image (Includes set-up & CD writing fee) : NZ $23.00 plus CD charge below.
• Each image thereafter : NZ $20.00

Standard Scanned Images on CD (Bona Fide Students Only) :

• First Image : NZ$10.00 plus CD charge below.
• Each image thereafter : NZ$8.00

NB : Student charges are subject to the Archives receiving a copy of the completed work.

Cost of Re-Writable CD (If not supplied to us) :

• Standard charge : NZ$3.00 per CD
• Student charge : NZ$2.00 per CD

Postage and Packing :

• An additional fee for Postage and packing will apply on all posted orders. Normal charge within New Zealand is NZ$1.25 for surface postage and NZ$3.25 for letter air post overseas (assuming no other material needs to be enclosed).

Images to be Reproduced Commercially (eg: Publications, Television, Films, Advertising and other Media) or for Public Display Purposes (eg: Museum exhibitions) :

• NZ$40.00 per image plus a copy of the publication (if applicable) plus payment of our normal reproduction fees.
• NZ$100.00 per image plus a copy of the publication (if applicable) plus payment of our normal reproduction fees for any image intended to be used on the cover of a book or publication, or for any form of commercial (for profit) advertising.
